Kerman

The city of Kermin is located in southeast Iran. Kerman is a historically significant city and the origin of highly renowned floral patterned carpets. Mirror carpets, i.e., carpets with unadorned inner field (without ornamentation), are typical for the Kerman pattern. Another typical feature is the finely crafted flower ornamentation that fully adorns Kerman carpets from the border to the centerpiece. Despite the wealth of ornamentation, they do not appear cluttered which is traceable to the pastel shades and harmonic base colours that are used when crafting them.
